I did a quick dash to the Boyne river to knock Barra off my bucket list this weekend and with a little from other AA members it was successful. My thanks to those who gave advice, it was appreciated.
I got my one and only barra right on nightfall friday night, a fair way up river towards Awoonga, managed to break my small landing net getting him in the yak. Spent Saturday morning looking around Boyne Island and Tannum sands, Saturday arvo I booked into the Benaraby Caravan park, and had a fish in the Boyne River there where I found a school of tarpon, how do you get those buggers to stay Hooked. I must have hooked 10 of 'em and didn't get one to the yak. Just on dark I stumbled onto a rock bar where I nailed a Queeny, a couple of GT's, and 2 flathead. But sadly no Barra.
Left for home Sunday morning first thing. Sadly, being on my own in the Hobie, limits the photo opportunities.
