    Default Mackerel for tea

Had a run out with mate Steve chasing mackerel. Steve’s been playing with Paravanes and wow they certainly work on mackerel. Steve uses them on a hand line and it’s a fairly easy way of trolling.
We followed the birds and pulled in 7 or so and brought some home for tea. Spotties and schoolies and a few broad bar in the mix but although the broadies were chopping the baitfish we couldn’t entice them. All in all a great morning out. Conditions were gorgeous out there. Hungry for the next trip.IMG_1638.jpg

And the rain, I was going to head out in the morning but still forecasting showers in the morning. Showers and crossing a bar in poor light is not something I'll undertake.

So I slept in and woke up late to a beautiful day. I should have stuck to my Golden Rule that 95% of the time the weather will be the opposite when I want to go fishing.
In the end I'd totally forgotten I had a skin check appt and I do have a suspect spot.

Had some spotties for dinner last night. Enjoy.
Now, I'm not saying we should invoke capital punishment for Stupidity, but how about we just take all the warning labels off everything and let nature sort itself out?

Rub it in. As mentioned I lost 2 Spaniards, didn't use wire, probably should and the only fish I thought would be keepers were sharked. Probably won't go fishing now till after Christmas as have some unscheduled surgery due and with os visitors for Christmas I have lots of chores to do first.
