Hi all, Jode asked me to take a couple of her friends for a fish this morning,so left home at around 6.30 am,as they had to be back around 12,so we headed down the straits.
Plenty of other boats around being sunday. With no run in the tide and the last half of the out i wasn't too hopeful but in the end we managed a few,but it was pretty quiet. Just used Motor Oil and Copper Penny 2.5" Grubz and 4" Streakz. I must say if you are using Zmans, get your hands on some of the Headlockz as they minimise "pantsing" of the lure.
Early on i was working along a current line when the little 2.5" was molested and the 6lb braid burned off the little XtS at a rate of knots. Few second later a Nice Queeny jumped, nowhere near where the line entered the water. It was a terrible belly in the line, but after some quick winding and a bit of rabbiting on the Kota, i was kind of back in touch. She put on a very acrobatic display, and i got a few one handed pics which arent very clear but you get the idea.
Worked a couple more banks and the girls got a couple double hookups on Trevally which gave them a workout so smiles all round. Kept the trevs in the pics,as the Nipper Kipper box needs a workout, and also the girls wern't too enthused on grabbing the fish so it was a win win.
Eliza also managed a couple of small trumps and a flatty which we released. Headed home and got a bit wet in the Arvo sea breeze which had picked up....Nice way o spend the morning with a feed of kippered fish to boot.
