A great fish on any tackle but more so on the light gear.Top effort.Almost certainly fully roed up by the look of the girth.
    Cheers, Mick

Great work Matt. It is bloody amazing how good the fluro's are these days.
I have landed so many good fish on the 3lb. I haven't got to the 2lb yet.

Thanks for all the comments guys, its great to be able to share the pics here. I was surprised at how easy she came in on the light gear. She was pretty doughy, and we got lucky with the hook up and at the net.

The 2lb isn't fun to use, but it definitely makes a difference in how many bream bites you get. Its always a fine line between too much/too little drag. I've dropped a lot of fish this year from not setting hooks properly, and also lost a few busting them off on the strike.

Its been about 15 years since I seriously targetted flathead, I got a few over 80 back then, with a PB at 89cm. I'd forgotten how awesome a big flathead is!

    Cheers,

    Matt
