A man with a plan!
My best whiting have been from almost directly in front of the little ramp in Elimbah Creek.
Fish in the 35 to 40cm bracket but quite a lot of water between them.
Upstream south of the islands is quite productive for average fish for me.
In the slip and moorings stretch I tend to get little action.
Upstream at the next set of houses always produces some good fish if it is salty enough.
great stuff Ron. Those grunter cook up tops. Did the young fella catch the jewies on yabbies also ?
Hi Tony
Appreciate the info mate, I generally don't fish the creeks for whiting during summer only chase them up the creeks between April and August, however a friend of mine is catching a few at the moment in Elimbah and mostly good quality, might try and catch up with you one morning up Ningi for a chat if you have the time
Ron
Hi Dean
They certainly do cook up well, I prefer them in egg and breadcrumbs deep fried with a home grown salad and of course chips :32_002:, young bloke caught both jewies on prawns, I got cleaned up the same morning by a much bigger fish, wasn't able to turn him and he slipped into the oyster lease about 50 meters down from where we were fishing, sometimes happen when you're targeting whiting or grunter with 3 kilo and a larger then average schoolie takes your bait
Thanks for your response
Ron
Another stirling performance Ron. My PB Jewie is about 20cm, so the young fella is streets ahead of me already. Keep 'em coming.
